IPR Outreach Activities Related to 70 Years of DAE

Under the DAE Platinum Jubilee celebrations, IPR plans to invites local schools and colleges as well as other outstation educational institutions to visit IPR, FCIPT and its R&D facilities.

  The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara
25 students of M.Sc.(Physics) with 4 faculty members of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara visited IPR on 2nd January 2025. At IPR, these students and faculty were introduced to Neutronics by Dr. Mitul Abhangi and then they were shown Neutronics lab.Post lunch, they were introduced to Tokamak and its features by Mr. Gattu Ramesh babu by a visit to SST1.

  Electrical Engineering Department, Nirma University, Ahmedabad
80 students with 3 faculty members of B.Tech.Semister VI division B of Electrical Engineering Department, Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad visited IPR on 17th January 2025. At IPR, these students and faculty were introduced to Plasma, Tokamak, Fusion and applications of Plasma by a talk deliverd by Mr. Gattu Ramesh Babu. Later, Plasma based exhibits at Outreach Hall were demonstrated by Outreach members. These visitors were taken for 132kV substation visit and later to SST1 tokamak. Here, important features of SST1 tokamak were briefed with their importance.

74 students with 2 faculty members of B.Tech.Semister VI division A of Electrical Engineering Department, Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad visited IPR on 20th January 2025. Visitors were shown LN2 and LHe Deewars and role of cryogenics in Tokamak

  Lalan College, Bhuj, Kuchchh
35 students of B.Sc.(Physics) with 3 faculty members of Lalan College, Bhuj, Kuchchh visited IPR on 21nd January 2025. At IPR, these students and faculty were introduced to Plasma, Tokamak, Fusion and applications of Plasma by a talk deliverd by Mr. Gattu Ramesh Babu. Later, Plasma based exhibits at Outreach Hall were demonstrated. TF magnets of Aditya and SST1 tokamaks, ITER cryostat sample, cryopump at Science Park were introduced and later SST1 tokamak was visited by the students and faculty. Here, important features of SST1 tokamak were briefed with their importance.

  Sakar English School, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad (Class 7A)
60 students of class 7th with 2 faculty members of Sakar English School, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad visited IPR on 22nd January 2025. At IPR, these students and faculty were introduced to Basics of Plasma, Tokamak, Fusion and applications of Plasma by  Mr. Gattu Ramesh Babu. Later, Plasma based exhibits at Outreach Hall were demonstrated.
