Solar Observation Programs
India's Aditya L1, orbiting at about 1.5 million km from Earth in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1) between the Earth and the Sun. This satellite will study the solar atmosphere, solar magnetic storms, and their impact on the environment around the Earth.
Keeping this in mind, IPR Outreach has embarked upon a program of Solar Observation, wherein we take the sun to the masses using our solar telescope equipped with a high resolution H-alpha filter. As part of this programe, IPR will organize events at schools and colleges to show students the various phenomena occuring on the surface of the sun which would otherwise not be visible using common solar filters.
