Superconductivity
Superconductivity
This model demonstrates the principle of magnetic levitation by Meissner effect in superconductors. High Temperature superconductors cooled using liquid nitrogen us used to demonstrate levitation in a model train. Various samples of commercially available superconductors as well as a real sample of the superconducting cable used in tokamak magnetic coils will also be on display. SST-1 Tokamak of IPR uses superconducting coils to generate magnetic fields to confine the plasma.
